I grew up in a struggling middle class family. I was taught to believe in God, but not to worship God or learn His ways. I grew up wanting to be successful, especially financially successful. Then, after some degree of financial success, I feared not living long enough to enjoy the fruits of these labors. During these years of achieving "worldly success" I always believed in God, but in reality my faith and worship as a believer were minimal.
About 10 years ago, in the journey towards success, I started stressing from all the pressures. This eventually resulted in what medical tests showed was a high risk of prostate cancer. After a series of tests and two biopsies which had negative results, I remember asking the doctor if he ever had any high-risk patients with similar results. He replied that he only had one patient like that and the cancer was discovered on the third biopsy; the patient died within a year of its detection.
A month after the doctor told me that, the beginning of something special happened in my life. I came to the New Life Women's Ministry and remember quite well my spirit being significantly moved by the Holy Ghost even as I first drove onto the property...so much so that I just looked up and said aloud, "Yes, God, I know!"...simply meaning that I knew this is where He wanted me.
During the next nine months, the prostate cancer issue continued to torment me. Eventually, I took it to God in prayer and ever so faithfully, God responded with Psalm 139. I studied the Psalm and prayed for several days more giving our Lord my "unconditional" faith for the first time in my life. During this process God revealed to me that any fear of pain or cancer or death were of no consequence because my spirit and soul would leave this body in a certain way and at a certain time that He had already written. It was far more than just that, though, because God had given me complete peace and comfort about whatever was yet to come.
On the morning of the next doctor's appointment, everyone at the ministry prayed over me. Later, my doctor performed his exam and reviewed all the test results. He was shocked at how good the exam and tests results were. There was no longer any indication of prostate cancer. Upon leaving the doctor's office, I immediately praised and thanked God for this miracle in my life...and the two exams since then...the very same results; no risk of prostate cancer.
Praise the Lord!!!
