Replenish The Source Within You

Recently, I saw this phrase on a vending machine, "Replenish the source within." It grabbed my heart, as I thought of the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to fill me with all the necessary elements I need to succeed in life... This simple statement spoke volumes to me regarding spiritual replenishment, and the semblance of the two, (vending machine vs. us), was amazing! Please consider the following:

• Like an empty vending machine, if we are empty vessels, we would be of no use, as we would not be serving our true purpose in life. God created us to serve a specific purpose, and if we don't have the main source within us we can't function. Also, if the vending machine itself wasn't maintained, or in good operating condition, it would be unable to house the products inside it. Just like the machine, if we don't take care of our body or temple, then we can't house the Holy Spirit! The bottom line is, that if we are empty or not functioning properly, we cannot fulfill our destiny or God's plan and purpose for our lives.
• If the machine's supply is low, or there is a failure to maintain its supply, then people would stop using the machine and would go elsewhere. Here I see how important our operating is and the affects that it could have on, for example, a Pastor and his congregation, or a new Christian seeking fellowship with an empty Christian. We could, in fact, actually cause another to go astray or in the wrong direction if we don't have anything to offer them spiritually. We never know when God will choose for us to speak into someone's life. We must be able to speak a word in due season, and this can only happen if we stay filled. We are ill-equipped without the power of the Holy Spirit, whereas with him, he has more than enough to supply us. Like the vending machine, if our source is not replenished, then we are basically useless!
• In order to get a fresh supply, the machine's stock must be used up. If we want a fresh supply from God then we too, must "give" to get.
• A full machine shows that the operator/owner is around or in close proximity to the machine. It is evident that our "operator" is nearby when we are full. I don't know about you but I want my supply to stay full and overflowing at all times and know that God is near. I also want others to "want" from my supply.

I realize that this may seem a little childish or simplistic, my comparison between the vending machine and we as Christians, but sometimes God is good that way and speaks to us in such a way that we can really understand. I hope that this in some way speaks to you as it did to me and I pray that God will keep you full!!!
